Greetings,

I have downloaded the ISO image files, disc1 & disc2 of FreeBSD 5.0
from FreeBSD public
FTP server, and burned the images to 2 CD discs.

While I didnt download the mini_installer disc, the first note I had
was the title of
disc1, which was fbsd5_mini.. this is the first, minor, mistake.. it
doesnt effect the
installation... lets go further.

I booted by disc1, and the machine hangs during the very first boot
at the following
point:

MBREXT Slice 5 on ad4s2:

I thought it is my labtop which causes the problem, so I tried the
same with my desktop,
and it causes the very same thing: a hang during the very first boot
up.

I wonder, how could FreeBSD 4.8, and even 3.2, boot up my machine
with No Error
whatsoever, while your fancy new release, freebsd 5.0, the well
developed and most
advanced, aint able to.

Attached is its FreeBSD 4.8 dmesg.boot, the latest working release on
my desktop.

Regards
