AARRGGHH!  Sorry, but this is the Question of the Month and I have yet to
see a clean-cut solution.  

One is to buy the OSS sound system package from 4front-tech.

ie, you need the Luigi driver versus the VoxWare.

The luigi driver doesn't support MIDI fully as of yet.
