i would suggest installing the PAO option for FreeBSD 3.0, or consider
upgrading to 3.4-stable.

PAO (FreeBSD Nomad) can be retrieved from http://www.jp.freebsd.org/PAO

i've been using it off and on for a little while now, and haven't had many
problems with it.
