Back around X11R3, there was a version of xconsole that would map itself
to the display (uniconify or map...) whenever there was console output.
This is a major win over the current xconsole that ships with R6 contrib.

Does anyone have a pointer to a decent "console logger" that won't take
up screen real-estate but will give reasonable notification when console
output occurs?
