As a start, the end2end list (majordomo@zephyr.isi.edu, subscribe end2end-interest) and the tcp-impl list (majordomo@grc.nasa.gov, subscribe tcp-impl) and their archives will help you avoid embarassing flubs. Reinventing the wheel for freebsd, while fun, is not helpful. And of course, the BSDI folks know all about these issues. If I'm not smoking something, isn't there now a relationship?
