I'm not really sure I want to continue this discussion now that
you've made it clear that correctness is not your goal.

I also don't understand what's forcing you to use csh, you can
simply log in, then exec another shell.

Programming with csh _is_ discouraged, but tcsh/csh is a lot more
userfriendly for interactive use.

Bash can NOT be the main shell as the license it's distributed
under prohibits its inclusion in the FreeBSD base system as a
critical subsystem because the license is GPL.

Since you don't have to use csh, and nothing is stopping you from
installing bash, can we end this pointless discussion now?
