Don't forget to add "-B/arch/sparc64/usr/sparc64-deo-freebsd5/bin/" to
your COPTS/CFLAGS.

I guess I should have mentioned that it must live as /arch/sparc64 to
start with.

That is much father out.  I have committed into the FSF GCC CVS repo most
of the changes needed for a stock 3.1 "sparc64-*-freebsd*" compiler. 

I am in review for the last set of bits.  But those seem to expose a bug
in GCC 3.1, so it might be a little bit longer.

Due to the pain and rules of MFC's w/in the FSF GCC tree, there probably
will not be a native in-tree 3.0.x compiler.  [well... maybe I will fake
something up that kinda works].
