I've been seeing what Andrew reported on two different boxes for
quite some time.  It is always the same drive in each box, which
if I disconnect this goes away.  I'm taking this as a warning
that, as I already suspected, those drives are on their last legs
so it is actually a nice `feature'; don't put anything on this
drive that you aren't willing to loose.
