Further info -

When I boot 4.0-19990520-CURRENT off of floppies, it also reports the
same error,

xl0: <3Com 3c905B-TX Fast Etherlink XL> rev 0x24 int a irq 9 on pci0.16.0
xl0: couldn't map port
xl0: WARNING: this shouldn't happen! Possible PCI support code bug!
xl0: attempting to map iobase manually
xl0: Ethernet address: 00:10:5a:1f:6c:3c
xl0: autoneg complete, link status good (full-duplex, 100Mbps)

and then crashes much later in the autoconfig sequence with a kernel fault.

So I guess I'll try to track this in the 3.2 sources.

	Best,
	 -Mike
