That sort of rudeness I can live with but I wish I didn't have to. A "heads up" would have been nice but maybe that went to a list I'm not on? I think Jonathan's comment about hoping I was asleep when he made that commit sort of sums it all up: * anonymous notes darrenr is probably asleep ATM. I would seem that someone has picked now as a prime time to take advantage of a situation where I was perhaps under the hammer: * anonymous would like to see all the ipfilter netinet/* stuff moved into another directory regardless of the licensing issues. I think we had this discussion before, and darren threw a fit that he couldn't handle th changed pathnames. I think this time, we have enough impetus to move it. ... bmilekic: no, I want this stuff out of netinet/* regardless of licensing. ... yeah - it's a mtter of timing. one crisis at a time, please. :-) ... evilpete: BTW, I've moved ipfilter over to sys/contrib/ipfilter; I'll submit diffs after the current licensing issue is settled. ... Too bad they deemed it below themselves to ask me what I thought of this given I've had time to think this over since the last flame war. Never mind, I'll just throw all these thoughts/feelings out with the trash as I'm not going to let it bother me after this. I guess there are some developers (geeks) who still need some lessons in social skills when working in a team environment over the 'net. It is generally considered the height of rudiness, in my experience, to go and make a large change in someone else's area of responsibility although you feel you can get away with it because you don't need to see that person, face to face, in your day to day life. Anyway, like I said, I'm over it and can see this being of long-term benefit lest ipfilter pollute /sys/netinet with more droppings. It would have been nice for RELENG_4 to not be afflicted by this but someone's already made a decision the other way (so it seems) and I can live with that.
