Yeah...and he mentions it in his email.  Did you read it?

The driver you need (mfi) was never backported to 5.x  It was introduced in=
=20
=46BSD 6.1-R  You might ask the author (Scott Long) how much work it would =
be=20
or why it was never backported.  It's possible it's trivial and it's possib=
le=20
that it would require massive amounts of work.
