Hello there! I have successfully set my FreeBSD box as a PPP server. Nevertheless, I only get a 9600 bauds connection. My modems are suppose to work at 28800 and a direct connection gets speeds of 28800 (and, I do not why, MORE!). I mean, telephone lines are very good. ttyd2 in /etc/ttys is defined as: ttyd2 "/usr/libexec/getty std.38400" dialup on secure I get the connection through a user with "pppd" as working shell. My server is working as a gateway and my "/etc/ppp/options" file is: crtscts # Hardware flow control domain esfm.ipn.mx # your domain passive # wait for LCP modem # modem line proxyarp # use ARP proxy routine ------------------------------------------------- my "/etc/ppp/options.ttyd2" file says: 148.204.104.23:148.204.104.250 ------------------------------------------------- In the calling machine "/etc/ppp/ppp.conf" contains: michelle: set phone 7296000,,,,,,,55043 set login "TIMEOUT 80 login:-\\r-login: michelle word: xxxx" ------------------------------------------------ And "/etc/ppp/ppp.linkup" is: MYADDR: set timeout 300 delete ALL add 0 0 HISADDR ------------------------------------------------ Do you have any ideas for improving the connection speed ? Thanks in advance. /\ /\ _ / \/ \ \___/_\ __ ( O O _) / / / \ /\ / ___ / / ___ | |\ / / | / / / |_|_ O __/____/\__/\___|/___/\__/ \/
