Did you try putting this in the "/etc/make.conf" file:

WITH_OPENSSL_PORT=yes

Then try doing an R&R on the ports and see what transpires. By the way,
the port version of openssl is 1.0.0c, so you might want to update your
ports tree before attempting to rebuild the afflicted ports. Also,
check the updating file. You will need to rebuild a few files before
continuing on with your project.
