I could stop using X altogether and just use an 80x25 terminal.  But
I'm not going to.  Recall that I have a Latitude CPi 233 MHz, which is
a pretty good laptop.  But if somebody comes to you and says "That
laptop is too old and slow; let me buy you a better one", what would
you say?
