apsfilter is an input filter (text filter) for a spooling system, but
PLP is an entire spooling system. PLP replaces lpd, lpr, lpq, lprm,
lpc, etc. with its own version of those programs.
You can use apsfilter with BSD LPD, PLP, LPRng, and (I'd imagine)
System-V LP, too.
