A compiled-in Linuxulator is documented to be supported and therefore mandatory. If we can't do that on Alpha for technical reasons then that only means that the port is not yet complete (which is accepted brokenness, because it's work in progress). Not being able to compile-in the Linuxulator because we happen to build the Linuxulator in an (gratuitously) incompatible way is unaccepted brokenness that can and needs to be fixed.
