There's no way, in general.  Remember, almost everybody CVSups from a
mirror site.  Mirrors can get updated in the middle of a commit too.
In that case, the problem doesn't get fixed until the next time that
the mirror updates itself from freefall.  Many mirrors update hourly,
but not all of them do.
