Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG Hi all. I already posted a bug report to the FreeBSD folks... Few days ago, I installed a 3.1-REELASE on my new server, and yesterday did a cvsup to 3.1-STABLE. My machine hardware include an AHA-2940 W/UW SCSI adapter, AGP video card and a 3Com 309B XL 10/100Mbs ethernet card. My problem is the new STABLE snapshot I upgraded to (on 3/30/1999) doesn't seem to work fine with the 3Com (xl driver) while the RELEASE version worked fine. After upgrading and compiling the new kernel, then booting, the kernel identifies the xl card and when trying to install its driver, reports: "xl: couldn't map port". Trying to change to memory mapped mode from PIO mode (check /usr/src/sys/pci/if_xl.c), recompiling the kernel and rebooting, this time the kernel reports: "xl: couldn't map memory". Is the 3/30/1999 3.1-STABLE snapshot broken? I need a solution fast because this machine is my mail/WWW/DNS machine and I need to make it work soon. Thanks for the help...
