No sound, I tried the snd_hda driver from: http://people.freebsd.org/~ariff/lowlatency/ I have wrongly submitted a PR to Stable on that. It is closed but one may browse it for information purpose: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=109132 DVD-RW works like a charm with growisofs (/dev/cd1) for DVDs and burncd (/dev/acd1) for CDs. True that I need to change my HUB in order to test the Gigabit thing... Video, well, nVidia driver is giving me (under sort of heavy load): % glxgears 10540 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2106.152 FPS 10540 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2105.522 FPS 10540 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2104.844 FPS 10441 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2086.962 FPS 14740 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2947.058 FPS 18307 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3660.819 FPS 18480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3695.081 FPS 18367 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3670.724 FPS 18447 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3688.362 FPS No bad. I have not tested the card reader yet. This machine also works with 6.2-RELEASE AMD64. Installation equally smooth. But no nVidia driver and some ports related to linux don't either.
