Doug,

I'm having some problems with XFree86 4.x on my API UP1000 running
-current.  It seems to happen on all recent revs of XFree86-4.  I've
just grabbed the 4.0.2 sources and I'm working with those.  I think it 
would happen on -stable too.

Essentially, the server is reporting ****INVALID MEM ALLOCATION****,
attempting to fix things up & failing miserably. It is trying to move
things from the region: b: 0x40000000 e: 0x407fffff to 0x80000000 - 0xffffffff
and so on; moving things from 0x4....... to 0x8.......

This is happening because it is getting confused about the UP1000's
AGP bridge:

I think what is happening is that the !@#$@#$ SRM firmware on this box
is configuring the agp bus as bus 2, so it has a PCI bus 0 and an AGP
bus 2, but no PCI or AGP bus "1".  Then XFree86 comes along and
mislabels the video card, claiming that it is at 01:05:0 when it is
really at 02:05:0.  Things are further confused by the bridge
configuration in xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common/xf86pciBus.c

The following patch seems to work nicely, though I have no idea why:
