Hello,

I recently ran accross the paper:

Lawrence S. Brakmo, Larry L.Peterson
Performance Problems in BSD4.4 TCP

published by the ACM CCR 25,5 (oct 95) and available on

ftp://ftp.cs.arizona.edu/xkernel/Papers/tcp_problems.ps

that states that the BSD 4.4-Lite of TCP have some performance problems
compared to the previous Reno Release.

I am interested to know if:

- FreeBSD is based on 4.4-Lite code, without the patches tested by
the authors of the paper.

- Work has been done, or is being done, to integrate the Vegas evolution
from the arizona group (some patches/code can be found for NetBSD).

Thank you for your attention.

Claude Buisson
