Did you extract the portball into a clean directory, or on top of a
minicom directory with the old portball extracted into it?  There are
less patch files, and this may be what is causing this problem.

Please, refetch the portball from ftp.freebsd.org, extract it into a
clean directory, and re-make.  There is currently a bug in the
``install'' target, so you want to use ``make BATCH=yes install''.
