looking a bit closer it seems that only 4.0-STABLE directories exist there:

ftp://releng4.FreeBSD.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/i386/

no such thing like releng3.FreeBSD.org seems to exist so if one wants to go
3.4-STABLE he has to do it by source ?

Cheers
