I would recommend the handbook and documentation at www.freebsd.org

Subject: Docs

I have ordered the free BSD 4 CD Rom set from Walnut Creek. I am looking on
a BSD specific manual/docs etc.. where's a good place to start. I used to be
pretty fluent with SCO Xenix about 8 years ago, but I need to re-learn
things.. Simple things like changing virtual terminals from the console,
shutting down, tcp/ip config... etc...

thanks
