I'll have to check but did you do a 'make buildworld' first? It makes teh
.o files in the obj tree.
and did you do the 'make obj' lines as well? The floppies have to also be
made in the obj tree.
(so they can find the .o files)

cd /usr/src/release/floppies
make clean
make obj
cd fixit
make

is what is theoretically needed..
I'll try it later on a 2.2.7 machine....
