You must be using the 'fbsdboot' program to get this error. Disable EMM386 and try it again, or use the more conventional boot floppy. :) > I'm wondering > if I tried to load FreeBSD via the use of the "makeflp" program if I'd > have better luck. That's hard :( The best way to handle these monsters is to do a net install. The 3c589 PCMCIA ethernet card is supported in the zp driver so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting it to work. > In addition, I wanted to know if I used a FreeBSD version such as 2.0.5, > which I already have on floppies, to load the basic FreeBSD system will > I be able to then access the CDROM drive and then upgrade to version > 2.1.5 and load the X-Windows portion of FreeBSD? A net install is about the only way to do it with these units. > I would like to know if you know of any FreeBSD "X" tool installation > routine available on the 2.1.5 version CDROM of FreeBSD? I doubt that FreeBSD will since it requires too much software to fit on one floppy. The dialog library is pretty close as is.
