My status on laptop machines:

1. Bugs on automatic ifconfig up/down were fixed (ze and zp).

2. When the flags 0x10 is specified, ze and zp always be peobed without 
   plugging the card on bootstrap (and they can be attached later).  It 
   works on ze and zp.  It will works on sio in a few days.

3. Koichiro Eto wrote a patch to sio.c to probe and attach PCMCIA
   modem card.  It works well!

I'll send these patches soon. And,

4. I'm trying to port pcmcia-2.1 on SNAP, but it has not work on my
   machine and cards yet....
