I think that so very few people understood the opening sequence of
"The Prisoner", even he himself I don't think got it until they
explained it in the final episode...

Quoth the opening sequence:

"Who are you?"
"I am Number Two."
"Who is Number One?"
"You are, Number Six"

Got to remember that a lot of the plot was about subtrifuge [sp?] and
double-talk...
