Thanks. I commented out that line, built kernal, restarted and now X won't
start.

I get this message:
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared Object "libXext.so.6" not found
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared Object "libqt2.so.4" not found
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared Object "libqt2.so.4" not found
/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared Object "libXext.so.6" not found
connect() failed: : No such file or directory

then my networking stops and i have to rebuild the kernal to get it back.

I am also getting messages saying "dhclient: send_packet: Address family not
supported by protocol family"

Kernal configuration:
#
# GENERIC -- Generic kernel configuration file for FreeBSD/i386
#
# For more information on this file, please read the handbook section on
# Kernel Configuration Files:
#
# http://www.FreeBSD.org/handbook/kernelconfig-config.html

# The handbook is also available locally in /usr/share/doc/handbook
# if you've installed the doc distribution, otherwise always see the

# latest information.
#
# An exhaustive list of options and more detailed explanations of the
# device lines is also present in the ./LINT configuration file. If you are
# in doubt as to the purpose or necessity of a line, check first in LINT.
