FreeBSD dec.ohata.local.net 6.2-STABLE FreeBSD 6.2-STABLE #10: Sun Mar 18 06:21:57 JST 2007 root@dec.ohata.local.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/fx200 i386
>Description:
When local domain name in /etc/resolv.conf is defined as
2dots ( aaa.local.net ) , Resolver does not treat
correctlly local domain name.
It treat one dot and aaa part is ignored.
ex.
ping nonexist-host.aaa.local.net was treated as follows,

hostname: nonexist-host.aaa.local.net
domain: local.net
FQDN: nonexist-host.aaa.local.net.local.net

even no dns answer.
As the result of above, ICMP was sent to .local.net
