Thanks for the quick answer! I was hoping this wasn't the case but I 
had to be 100% certain.

Are there any tools to shrink a partition? :)

When I lost power on this system the mirrors weren't synced so the 
gmirror sync + fsync kept the system down for 1.5 hours - that hurt.
