This error message apears when I try to send any data to /dev/audio. It will play about one second of audio before the kernel reports: pcm0: play interrupt timeout, channel dead The audio had been working nicely with 4.2-RELEASE. I updated to 4.5-STABLE from around July 2001 and it stopped working. It is currently running 4.5-RELEASE. The machine is a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop.
