BTW, can anybody comment on the prospects of buying used DLT drives?
I'm told they're robust, but...

Earlier this week there was a 4-year old DLT4000 at a local auction
site. It seemed kind of interesting, but I have no idea in what
condition such a drive is after (possibly) four years of daily
(ab)use.
