Hello World,

At least that is what I would like to print. But I can't get freeBSD to
drive my printer (HP Deskjet 820cse)

I have used MAKEDEV to make lpt0, it's there in /dev now.
Then I typed in dmesg | grep lpt0, and got the following:
     lpt0: <generic printer> on ppbus 0
     lpt0: interupt-driven port
Next I try:
  lp -d lpt0 Hello
and get
  lpr: lpt0: unknown printer
Also, I can't get any response from lptest > /dev/lpt0

I have read the book and the online handbook. Now I am at my wits end
(arrrgghhh).

Is there anybody out there that can help me?

Thanks in advance
Jeanette Parker

p.s. I am not on the list, so could you email reponses directly to me? Much
appreciated.
