While trying to upgrade my machine to 2.2.2, i ran into a problem early-
my machine won't boot from any of the 2.2.2 media! I've tried making a
boot disk from the boot.flp on the cdrom, and also booting to dos and
running install.bat from the cd-rom.

symptoms: freebsd probes all of my hardware, and then gets a double
fault.

I also tried booting off of a 2.2.1 cdrom (which is also what is
currently on my machine) and could get into sysinstall normally.

my hardware:
AMD 486-133
48MB RAM
AHA 2842 VLB SCSI controller
500MB and 1GB hard drives
SCSI CD-ROM
BOCA 4-port serial card
no-name ide/serial/parallel card
3COM 3c509 ethernet card
#9 GXE 64 VLB video card

Anybody have ideas on what would cause this?
