Dual-head didn't work with that setup, did it?

Without the video BIOS, the mga driver couldn't detect which card it 
was.  (I think, it's been a while.)

That was what my patch to xorg-server (1.4.x) fixed.  Or at least made 
work, by reading the video BIOS directly.
