I have re-compiled my kernel and on boot I get the following error:

found 2 apics, increase NAPIC
panic: you must reconfigure your kernel
mp_lock = 0000009; cpuid = 0; lapicid = 0000000
uptime 0s

I attempt to boot KERNEL.OLD but I get the same error. I have data on
this box tha I require. Is it possible to recover?

Thanks is advance for the assistance
Mike
