I can't for the life of me see any reason how this would be related to 
FreeBSD. Running FreeBSD 4 (gcc 2.x) on Sun hardware, maybe, but that doesn't 
seem to be the case.

Problem with today's modular software: they start with the modules
    and never get to the software part.
