I ran a news server on an Indy R4600/133 with 128MB of RAM. Disk speed was a bigger factor than just about anything else. XFS doesn't give you raw disk speed access, but it's damn close, and I could pull the plug on the machine and not worry about spending hours waiting to fsck the spool. I may have lost an article or two, but the fs itself was clean and ready to roll. Jamie Bowden -- If we've got to fight over grep, sign me up.
