>Description:
Ulrich Drepper at Red Hat has a released an extension to crypt() to support SHA-256 and SHA-512 in password hashes:

    http://people.redhat.com/drepper/sha-crypt.html
    http://people.redhat.com/drepper/SHA-crypt.txt

It has also been reviewed by people at IBM, HP, and Sun. He has released sample code into the public domain.

It would be cool if it could be integrated in FreeBSD.
