bin/ should have been enough although i'd recommend installing the
manpages as well.  (put manpages.inf on the last diskette of the bin/
distribution in the man/ dir i think - i didn't make that very clear
before).

i've no idea how to fix the problem you've got now so i've posted it back
to questions. I'd personally try a reinstall though, can't hurt if you're
starting from scratch.
