You need to tell the ed driver about the settings of this card.  If it's
Plug and Pray, I highly suggest disabling PnP and setting the resources
yourself.  Then boot -c and program the ed driver with your settings.  

Once up, you'll have to add some entires to /etc/rc.conf to run the
appropriate ifconfig's.  There should be a commented-out example you can
use, just modify the IP and netmask as appropriate.  (I don't have any
2.2.2 boxes yet or I'd post an example.)
