As far as the specific problem is concerned, I run the script below, and then 
set BATCH=yes in the environment (so it's picked up by deinstall scripts).



#!/bin/sh

plist=`pkg_version -ovl'<' |awk '{ print $1 }'`

for porg in $plist ; do
    cd  /usr/ports/${porg} && make config-recursive
done
