Over the years, and many areas of interest, I've had anywhere from 15,000 to 60,000 mailing list posts *per list* stored in a 'local' MUA folder as well as synced IMAP on the server. Diskpace is cheap, and messages are sparser than html. I can do all manner of complex searches on those when offline, and they are more specific than a full online 'google'. YMMV, Bill
