Yes with Latex you can! In particular with macro chess.sty.

download:   chess.tar.Z    and
chess.README from the file server:
sol.cs.ruu.nl (131.211.80.5) via anonymous ftp from the directory TEX,
but before look in your TeX , in my teTeX (FreeBSD 3.3 walnut creek) already
exist
