Salut Matthieu, Well, no, not if you do have a problem with the RAM in the system. If it's an older machine, try reseating the DIMM -- take it out and put it back in. Sometimes this helps remove oxidisation on connectors. Otherwise, you could try this utility: http://www.aha.ru/~alegr/download/memtest_en.htm to test your RAM. -- Regards, Juha PGP fingerprint: B7E1 CC52 5FCA 9756 B502 10C8 4CD8 B066 12F3 9544 On Thu, 2 Nov 2000, Lucas Pasini wrote: > Hi freebsd-stable, > I've had the error : > - > RAM parity error, likely hardware error > - > during make buildworld. > I have ran it on a Compaq Proliant 1600 with 64 Mb(in 1)of 100MHz SDRAM and a 400MHz Pentium III > Apparently, it's have a hardware error with the memory ... ;( > Can it be from another source like the system, cause the system have ran for a long time with SCO without problems ? > Are any issues to the problems but buying a new RAM ? > Regards, > > Matthieu Pasini > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
