I've recently installed FreeBSD 4.2 on a spare computer I had, and I've been
using it as a gateway for my household. I have been telneting into the
machine to make any modifications to it, but just recently I tried to log in
from the console, and it hasn't been working. I type my user name, and then
hit enter, it thinks for a bit, and then it prompts me for my user name
again. Logging in from Telnet still works fine, only the console login is
screwy.

I appreciate any help you can offer.
