Yeah, I have been there a while ago...

So what I have used thus far with named.boot and it's contents such as:

directory        /etc/dns
cache        .   named.ca

was BIND 4?

and this new one named.conf with:

options {
        directory "/etc/dns";
};

is BIND 8?

*sounding lamer every second =) *
