I haven't been following this, so this may have been answered.

I supped new sources this morning. Everything worked fine. I _did_
delete everything under /usr/src/sys/compile before id did a configon
my kernel. (This was after a make depend; make buildworld and a make
installworld.)

Try deleting /usr/src/sys/compile/<your_kernel_name> and do a new
config and make depend. This has always worked for me -- and I've been
bitten when I didn't;)
