This should have been 6-8 commits;  dissecting what is what even if
obvious in some places will even be more pain to understand this in 4 =
years
from now.  Especially given it seems cleanup, whitespace, and multiple
functional changes all mixed together; not to mention that it=E2=80=99s
(complex) security stuff.=
